Fashion Friday!

Melissa:
So everyone is aware, I am super freaking crafty. Blame my mom for making coin Carol Duvall crafts as a kid, or blame the fact that I am 5 feet tall and decided at 15 that I should probably learn to hem my own damn pants. Anyway, because I'm crafty and shit, I don't find it necessary to buy nice things/most anything. A lot of my stuff is second hand (cos I can make it better) or I made it myself. I also never feel the need to get new things, because I fix the old things that I love. Now to my point:

I have had this Loop NYC Andy Warhol Banana Bag since high school. I begged for it for Christmas or something like that. And I was pretty much only of 10 people in my high school who got the Andy Warhol/Velvet Underground reference, so I felt extra pretentious carrying it. This is what it's supposed to look like, complete with Edie Sedgwick Ribbon (which is now a magnet), and a mini-banana coin purse (which has since been lost in my room back in TX.) I'm infamous for this banana bag, mostly because I also carry a banana lip gloss bag (from Japan), and real bananas as well.

This is me with said bag in California a few years ago. As you can see on the outside, it's still in decent condition. Except for shortly after this, I had to create a lining because the bottom had a bunch of holes due to excessive pens poking through.

Being a tourist. Also, my boobs look great!

And now, I have to fix the strap! Basically, the moral of the story is that old things are sometimes still the best things! But if I had to choose another bag (coughcoughChristmascough) it'd be this:

Or I might just make this! More to come, me and crafty shit!

Rachel:
I'm not crafty and thrifty like Melissa but I am thefty.
This Treemotel shirt from a stupid slow moving freshman. Because I. Love. This. Band.
This from a Prime Arc in London because I didn't have any cash.  Buttons not included.

And this from a Nature Preserve in 2nd grade because our teacher told us not to touch anything.

P.S. I took that picture where Melissa looks like a tourist. I call it Not-A-Tourist.
