Fashion Friday!

Harmony: In honor of fall being upon us, I decided to post a fall look I'm quite fond of.

I stumbled upon the blog Cupcakes and Cashmere and fell in love. Check it out, I hope you love it as much as I do.

Melissa:
So we loved this show called Secret Diary of a Call Girl. And there was an actress in series 2, Ashely Madekwe, who was super cute. Well, I found out recently, she has a fashion blog! It's call Ring My Bell and it's extremely successful in Europe. And her pictures taken by her hot boyfriend, Iddo Goldberg, who was also on Secret Diary. Hope you like it!

Rachel: My idea of fashion up until seventh grade was a t-shirt and jeans/shorts depending on the weather. Ten years later, and still half stuck in grade school land, here are three things I know I enjoy.

1. The Trench Coat.
Ideally black, ideally Burberry, this coat is has many uses. The love of these coats probably stemmed from a early reading of Dracula, to a love of Van Helsing, a love of most things vampiric, Gothic, and how all the really sexy boys in films wore them.

2. Geek Jewelry

I am a very shy person. If I wear something from a TV show/movie/book that I love, it just saves me the time of trying to weed out people who have my interests. They come to me and it spares me minutes of awkward introductory conversation. I love pendants and am a mega nerd. Shut up Harmony Joy.

3. Punk Rock Style

Maybe it's just the reminder of all the fun times in 8th grade where I did sport combat boots, plaid skirts over ripped tights, and old school rock T-shirts. Maybe it's growing up with movies like The Lost Boys and Breakfast Club. Maybe it's because of the Fuck-You-I-Don't-Give-A-Shit attitude that comes with the clothing. Whatever it is, I would dress like this all the time if I could. And yes, I do own that skirt.

Uh, yeah, so fashion........ I like it.
But I WILL tell you what I DON'T like and what I DON'T consider to be fashion.
Yesterday I walked by a store. My friend walking next to me told me "Oh yeah, that store- it sells clothes for cyclists, but, like, whimsical, fashionable clothes, to people who have a fondness for riding bikes, so they can ride bikes, and also maintain a sense of identity."
First of all, you are not allowed to "maintain a sense of identity" while cycling, you are supposed to wear the "cyclist gear" so that everybody KNOWS WHAT YOU ARE (and knows that cyclist gear= undeserved sense of entitlement, which means "Rules of the road? What's that? I'm saving the world, so I'm above all those petty human laws, tah-dee-dah".
All I have to say is, a wolf can never shed it's wolf's coat, I mean... look at what happened to Hester Prynn in The Scarlet Letter!

*note: Author actually doesn't know what happened, she never finished the book.
