Music Monday

Melissa
It's Music Monday, y'all!! So for whatever reason I've been obsessively listening to Mumford and Sons Sigh No More album. Maybe because I've just moved, maybe because I'm sad about leaving certain people back in Santa Fe, maybe because it's just really good music. Anyway, this is my favorite song right now (also check out "I Gave You All"). I guess there's a whole series of videos of the band recording in a bookstore. How cool is that! Even though I doubt books create decent acoustics.

I AM A HUGE DISNEY SOUNDTRACK FAN. Now that I've gotten that embarrassing confession out of the way, let me just say, I have not loaded a Disney Soundtrack into my computer since June of 2009. (The Lion King, if you must know.) This is a shame. Sure, I've downloaded a song here (The Journey,The Rescuers) and a song there (Stand Out, A Goofy Movie) but nay has an album touched my ipod in many a year.

Ladies and Gents, Alan Menken is a god among composers. Not only has he revamped the sounds and styles from the Disney Golden Era (Beauty and the Beast, Mermaid, etc.) but he has taken my heart with Tangled

I DARE YOU to listen to Kingdom Dance and not twirl like it's 1605, and I dare you to not feel inspired by I've Got A DreamIf you haven't seen this movie, drop everything and see it. It's like the movies of our childhood (assuming you grew up in the late eighties/early nineties). Oh, and I dare you not to cry.

I'm obsessed with acoustic covers. Rachel and I saw saw these girls do this song when they opened for Rooney last February. It was the coldest day ever in NM and we got $5 hot totties, overall a wonderful night.

  1. I need to listen to more Mumford & Sons. Everyone recommends it to me!

I loved that song from The Goofy Movie! Glad I'm not the only one. :-)
